Stanley market in the quaint village of Stanley on Hong Kong Island’s south coast is a huge hit with locals, expats and tourists for good reason: its enormous selection of brand-name clothing items and accessories, jewellery, home furnishings, souvenirs, ornaments and Oriental knick-knacks are sold at reasonable prices in a picturesque warren of lanes. And if that’s not enough to grab you, the nearby eateries along the breezy seaside strip surely will!
You don’t have to be a rock buff to enjoy the Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark. The park includes the Sai Kung Volcanic Rock Region and the Northeast New Territories Sedimentary Rock Region and showcases Hong Kong’s timeless and eerily beautiful landforms. You may also pay a visit to the heritage buildings nearby.
Small it may be, but the island of Cheung Chau packs a powerful punch when it comes to attractions. Aside from its annual explosion of Bun Festival fun, Cheung Chau’s temples, seafood restaurants, beaches, and even a pirate’s hideout, make it an interesting getaway all year round.
Hong Kong’s unique culture and traditions are derived from a melting pot of both Western and Eastern influences. Experience the changes in Hong Kong’s history and learn about the wisdom evident in culture-rich Central, Sheung Wan and Western District. Stroll past colonial-era medical facilities, Chinese temples, traditional Chinese medicine shops and grocery stores.
Time will appear to stand still as you explore the narrow streets and fish markets of this historic stilted village, often referred to as the ‘Venice of the East’. Local experts may teach you how to make their signature salted egg yolks and tofu puddings – don’t knock it until you try it! And don’t forget to take home fisher folk delicacies such as shrimp paste and dried seafood.
Ocean Park is a marine-life theme park featuring animal exhibits, thrill rides and shows. In 2012, its impressive ability to offer guests a world-class experience that blends entertainment with education and conservation was confirmed when it became the first Asian winner of the biannual Applause Award, the most prestigious award in the amusement and theme park industry.

Macau’s architecture, art, religion, traditions, food and community reflect the integration of Chinese, Western and Portuguese cultures. It is growing in size with more buildings on reclaimed land, and in the number and diversity of its attractions. In 2005, The Historic Centre of Macau was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as a result of its unique historical and cultural landscape. Macau is currently positioning itself as the World Centre of Tourism and Leisure as it develops into a quality international tourist destination.
